To create the spiced rice dumplings (ammani kozhukkattai), start by soaking the raw rice in water for 3 to 4 hours.
After the soaking period, grind the rice to a smooth paste along with salt.
Heat a teaspoon of coconut oil in a deep non-stick pan and add the rice paste.
Stir the mixture continuously until it becomes transparent and forms a cohesive ball. once done, allow it to cool.
Add turmeric powder and asafoetida to the rice dough, and then knead it thoroughly by hand.
