To begin making the spicy moong dal dumplings, wash the yellow moong dal and soak it for an hour. then, grind it to a coarse paste using a mixer grinder and set it aside.

Prepare a fine paste by grinding onion, ginger, garlic, red chilies, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, and black pepper in a mixer grinder. keep this spice paste aside.

Heat mustard oil in a wide pan over medium heat until it is well-seasoned.

Add the spice paste to the heated oil and fry until the raw smell of the onion and garlic disappears.

Stir in the tomato puree, turmeric powder, and season with salt. saute until the tomato puree is well-cooked.
