To prepare spinach lentil fritters, start by soaking the chana dal (bengal gram) in water for an hour or two.
Reserve one tablespoon of the soaked chana dal and set it aside.
In a blender, combine the remaining soaked chana dal, green chilies, onion, cumin seeds, garlic, ginger, and a pinch of salt. blend them into a coarse paste.
Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl.
Add chopped spinach and the reserved tablespoon of chana dal to the bowl. mix all the ingredients thoroughly.
