To prepare the spicy tomato pachadi, heat 1 tablespoon oil in a heavy bottomed pan.
Add urad dal and chana dal, and cook for about a minute until they turn golden brown.
Next, add the ripe tomatoes and red chillies to the pan.
Season with salt and cook the tomatoes until they become soft and mushy.
Turn off the flame and let the mixture cool down for 5 minutes.
