Squeeze the soaked kokum pods to extract the juices. discard the pods and retain the warm water with the kokum extract.

In a mixer-grinder, blend the freshly grated coconut with enough water to form a smooth paste.

Strain the coconut paste through a fine sieve to extract fresh coconut milk.

Set the coconut milk aside.
