To begin making the spiced sweet potato dal, wash the masoor dal thoroughly and soak it in water for about an hour.
In a pressure cooker, add the soaked dal and 1 cup of water. pressure cook for 2 whistles. set aside.
In a non-stick pan, heat coconut oil over medium flame.
Add cumin seeds and wait for them to splutter.
Now, add green chillies and garlic cloves. fry until the garlic turns slightly brown.
