Wash the basmati rice thoroughly and soak it in water for about 30 minutes. drain the water.
In a blender, combine the soaked basmati rice and cashew nuts. blend them into a fine paste using a little water if needed. set aside.
In a saucepan, bring the full cream milk powder to a boil and let it simmer for a few minutes.
Add the rice and cashew paste to the simmering milk and continue to cook on medium heat, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
When the mixture thickens and the rice is cooked, add jaggery (unrefined cane sugar), cardamom powder, and thandai masala. mix well.
