To prepare the fragrant herbed pea rice, start by washing the rice and draining it. add a pinch of salt and 2 cups of water, then pressure cook the rice for 2 whistles. once done, switch off the heat and let the pressure release naturally.
After the pressure is released, open the cooker and fluff the cooked rice with a fork. let it cool slightly.
In a saucepan, heat the butter. add cumin seeds and allow them to splutter for a few seconds.
Introduce the fresh green peas, dried oregano, dried thyme leaves, red chili flakes, and a pinch of salt and black pepper. stir-fry for about 2 minutes.
Add the cooked rice to the saucepan and toss it with the herbed butter mixture until well combined.
