To create the nutty sesame and rice delight, start by washing the basmati rice and soaking it in water for 20 minutes.
In a pan, dry roast the white sesame seeds and dried red chilies on low heat until the sesame seeds splutter and turn golden brown.
Turn off the heat and allow the roasted sesame seeds and chilies to cool.
Once cooled, use a mixer to grind the sesame seeds and chilies into a coarse powder. set aside.
In a wide pan, heat 2 tablespoons of ghee. add the mustard seeds and split urad dal, letting them crackle.
