Cut the tofu into equal-sized pieces and steam them in a steamer for approximately 3 to 5 minutes. set aside.
In a saucepan, heat oil over low flame. add garlic and ginger, and saute for about a minute. then, add soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and spring onions. stir well to create a flavorful soy glaze.
Once the soy glaze is ready, take a circular plate and arrange the steamed tofu on it. pour the chopped spring onions and soy glaze over the tofu.
Garnish the dish with thinly sliced red bell peppers and sprinkle some crushed black pepper on top.
Serve the steamed tofu with spring onions & soy glaze while it's still warm.
