To prepare the south indian style plantain mash, start by boiling the raw bananas until they are tender. peel and mash them well. set aside.

In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds. allow them to crackle.

Add urad dal split and curry leaves to the pan. saute until the dal turns golden brown.

Now, add finely chopped onions and green chillies. saute until the onions become translucent.

Add grated mango and cook for a minute to incorporate its flavors into the mixture.
