To prepare spicy basa fish masala, start by marinating the basa fish. squeeze lemon juice over the fish and season it with a pinch of turmeric powder, salt, and pepper. allow it to marinate for 30 minutes.
While the fish is marinating, pressure cook the onion, half of the ripe tomato, cashew nuts, cloves, and cinnamon powder with a little water until they become soft and tender.
Once cooked, let the pressure release naturally, and then blend the cooked mixture into a smooth paste.
Heat a kadai with oil, add green cardamom and bay leaf, allowing them to sizzle and release their aroma.
Add the ground tomato-onion paste, a pinch of salt, and cook until the raw smell dissipates.
