To make coconut rice appam, start by soaking raw rice in water for 3 to 4 hours.
In a small bowl, mix salt, sugar, and active dry yeast. set aside for 5 minutes to activate the yeast.
In a mixer grinder, add the soaked rice, cooked rice, fresh coconut, a little water, and salt. grind to a smooth batter.
Add the yeast mixture to the batter and mix well.
Transfer the batter to a bowl, cover it, and let it ferment for 5 to 6 hours.
