To prepare the pomegranate and nut pulao, start by soaking the saffron in 2 teaspoons of warm milk for about 10 minutes and crushing it well.
Wash the basmati rice and soak it in water for half an hour.
In a biryani pot or pressure cooker, heat oil. add cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom, and saute until aromatic.
Drain the excess water from the soaked basmati rice and add the rice to the pot. saute for about 3 minutes over medium flame.
Add the saffron milk mixture, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup water, and salt to the rice.
