To start making the herbed lentil patties, soak the toor dal and urad dal for 3 to 4 hours.
Grind the soaked dals separately in a mixer, without excess water, until they form a coarse mixture. set aside about 2 tablespoons of this mixture.
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground dals with finely chopped onion, parsley leaves, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, salt, and turmeric powder.
Blend together green chillies, ginger, garlic, and curry leaves to make a coarse paste. add this paste to the mixing bowl.
Incorporate the reserved dal mixture to the rest of the batter, adjusting the consistency to make it slightly thick yet moldable.
