Begin by preparing a flavorful spice mix. in a small dry skillet, lightly roast cloves, cinnamon, cumin seeds, green cardamom pods, and black pepper over low heat until fragrant. allow them to cool, and then grind into a fine powder. set aside.
Heat a teaspoon of sunflower oil in a pan over medium heat. add the cleaned and sliced button mushrooms. saut„© them until they turn golden brown. remove them from the pan and set aside.
In the same pan, add a tablespoon of clarified butter (ghee). once the ghee is hot, add finely chopped onions, ginger, and garlic. saut„© until the onions become translucent.
Now, add the roasted cashews, poppy seeds, and the spice mix you prepared earlier. continue to saut„© for a couple of minutes until the mixture becomes aromatic.
Turn off the heat and let this mixture cool down for a bit.
