Rinse the green moong dal under running water and soak it in water for about 30 minutes. drain and set aside.
Heat ghee in a pressure cooker or a deep pan over medium heat.
Add the cloves, cumin seeds, and finely chopped garlic. saute for a minute until fragrant.
Add the sliced onion and green chillies. cook until the onions turn golden brown.
Stir in the turmeric powder and mix well.
