To prepare the saffron-infused sweet kashmiri pulao, start by washing the basmati rice thoroughly and soaking it in water for half an hour.
After soaking, drain the water and set the rice aside.
In a small bowl, soak the saffron strands in a tablespoon of water, allowing them to infuse their flavor.
In a small saucepan, add 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
Add the soaked rice and cook for about 5 to 10 minutes. the rice should be cooked only to 3/4th of its usual cooking time. do not overcook.
