To prepare the yogurt-marinated hilsa curry, start by marinating the fish with turmeric powder and a pinch of salt. set it aside.
Heat mustard oil in a heavy-bottomed pan.
Once the oil is mildly hot, add the marinated fish and shallow fry until they are cooked. remove the fried fish from the pan and set them aside to cool.
In a mixing bowl, combine the fried fish pieces, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and whipped yogurt. add a pinch of salt and mix everything well. let it marinate for 10 minutes.
In the same pan, add the remaining mustard oil. when the oil is smoking hot, add nigella seeds and green chillies.
