To start preparing the pear and almond upside-down cake, take a saucepan and add unsalted butter, honey, brown sugar, and grated ginger.
Allow the syrup to melt and cook until it turns a golden hue.
While the syrup is cooking, prepare a cake tin or cast iron pan by lightly greasing it with butter and dusting it with flour. tap off any excess flour without disturbing the inner lining of the cake pan.
Remove the syrup from heat and pour it into the prepared cake tin or ovenproof frying pan.
Arrange the pear slices on the bottom of the cake tin.
