Preheat the oven to 175 degrees celsius (350 degrees fahrenheit).
Chop the onions and set them aside.
In a bowl, combine the chopped onions, lemon zest, crushed black pepper, garlic powder, olive oil, paprika powder, salt, and 3 tablespoons of lemon juice. mix well to create the tangy marinade.
Place the salmon fillet in an oven-proof dish and pour the tangy marinade over it. use a brush to ensure the marinade covers the salmon evenly.
