To prepare the spicy milagai podi, heat a pan and add urad dal and chana dal. saute on medium heat until the dals turn golden brown.
Add sesame seeds, red chillies, curry leaves, and garlic to the pan. continue saut„©ing until the garlic turns light brown, and the curry leaves become crisp.
Finally, add asafoetida and saut„© for a few seconds. turn off the heat and let the mixture cool down.
Once cooled, grind the mixture into a fine powder to make milagai podi.
To make milagai podi uthappam, heat a dosa tawa on medium heat and grease it with a little oil.
