In a preheated pressure cooker, add a tablespoon of oil. drop in the whole spices - cloves, bay leaves, cinnamon stick, cardamom, and mace. allow their delightful aromas to be released.
Once the spices have infused the oil, introduce the soaked basmati rice and 3 cups of water. pressure cook for 2 whistles.
After 2 whistles, lower the heat and let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
Turn off the heat and allow the pressure to release naturally. set the flavorful rice aside.
