To prepare the bottle gourd and toor dal curry, start by heating a pressure cooker over medium heat. add cooking oil and let it heat up.
Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds to the hot oil. allow them to splutter for about 10 seconds.
Toss in the curry leaves and a pinch of asafoetida (hing). let the curry leaves crackle for another 10 seconds.
Add the chopped ripe tomatoes and sautËúÖ them until they turn mushy.
Stir in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, black pepper powder, and salt. also, add the green chilies, chopped bottle gourd (sorakaya), and soaked toor dal.
