To prepare the nutty poppy seed kheer, start by roasting the poppy seeds and rice in a skillet over low-medium heat until they turn a nice golden brown. this process will take about 4-6 minutes.
Turn off the flame and allow the roasted mixture to cool down.
Transfer the cooled mixture to a mixer jar and grind it into a coarse texture.
Add grated coconut and some water to the mixer jar and grind again until you get a smooth mixture.
In a saucepan, heat milk over medium flame and add the ground poppy seed and coconut mixture, along with cardamom pods and jaggery. bring it to a boil.
