To prepare nutty moong dal sweets, begin by dry roasting the moong dal in a large pan over low to medium heat for about 10 minutes or until it turns slightly golden and releases a pleasant aroma.
Turn off the heat and allow the roasted lentils to cool down to room temperature.
Once the lentils are cool, grind them into a fine powder using a blender. you can use either sugar or caster sugar for this recipe.
If using caster sugar, there's no need to grind it separately. simply sift the dal and caster sugar powders separately to remove any coarse bits and discard them.
In the same pan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.
