Wash and soak the rice and chana dal with fenugreek seeds separately for 4-5 hours or overnight.
Add a dry red chilli along with the chana dal and remove it before grinding.
Grind the rice and chana dal separately until smooth, using the water used for soaking.
Mix the rice and chana dal batters together and add salt.
You can immediately make dosai (dosa) with the batter without fermentation.
