Rinse the chana dal thoroughly and soak it in water for about 2 hours.
Drain the soaked chana dal and transfer it to a blender or food processor.
Grind the chana dal to a coarse paste without adding any water.
Heat a non-stick pan or kadai over medium heat and add ghee to it.
Add the ground chana dal paste to the pan and saute it in ghee for about 5-7 minutes, stirring continuously.
