To create spicy urad dal delight, start by rinsing the split urad dal thoroughly, and then soak it in enough water overnight.
The next day, wash the dal once more.
In a deep-bottomed pan, heat 1 teaspoon of oil and roast the soaked dal for about 3 minutes until it becomes aromatic.
Add enough hot water and some salt to the dal and cook it until it's tender. we aim for a firm yet well-cooked consistency.
If there's excess water in the dal, discard it.
