Heat oil in a skillet. add the sliced onions, season with salt, and sprinkle sugar over them. cook for about 3 minutes until the onions soften.

Add turmeric powder, chili powder, and cumin powder to the skillet. cook over medium heat until the onions turn golden brown. allow the mixture to cool.

Roll out the puff pastry sheet slightly. place a spoonful of the spiced onion mixture onto the pastry sheet.

Depending on your preference, you can either place one whole egg or half a boiled egg on top of the onion mixture.

Fold the puff pastry sheet to enclose the filling and seal the edges by pinching them tightly. place the filled puff pastry on a baking sheet or plate.
