To begin making the pineapple lentil rasam, first, cook the arhar dal in a pressure cooker. in the pressure cooker, combine the arhar dal along with water, salt, and turmeric powder.
Close the pressure cooker and cook for 3-4 whistles. allow the pressure to release naturally.
Once the pressure has released, open the cooker and mash the dal with a potato masher. transfer to a bowl and set aside.
Next, make the fresh tomato puree by grinding the chopped tomatoes into a smooth puree using a mixer jar.
In the pressure cooker, combine the pineapple cubes, green chilies, freshly made tomato puree, salt, red chili powder, coriander powder, and cumin powder.
