To prepare masoor dal gassi, begin by cooking the lentils in a pressure cooker.
Add the lentils, salt, turmeric powder, and 2-1/2 cups of water to the pressure cooker.
Cover the cooker and cook until it reaches two whistles.
Once it reaches the desired consistency, reduce the heat and simmer for 4 minutes.
Turn off the heat and allow the pressure to release naturally.
