To prepare the spiced mango puliserry, start by heating a heavy bottomed pan with 2 cups of water.
Add the ripe totapuri mangoes and green chillies to the pan and cook covered for 10 to 15 minutes over low flame until the mangoes are soft and cooked.
Optionally, you can squeeze out some pulp from the mangoes to create a thicker gravy.
While the mangoes are cooking, prepare the masala paste by grinding fresh coconut, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and red chilli powder in a mixer jar with 1/4 cup of warm water to form a smooth paste.
Once the mangoes are cooked, add the ground masala paste to the pan and cook the spiced mango puliserry over low flame for 5 to 7 minutes.
