Combine the butter-sugar mixture with the biscuit and chocolate chip crumbs. press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared springform pan to create the crust. refrigerate the pan while you prepare the filling.

In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate in short bursts in the microwave or use a double boiler. stir until smooth. let it cool slightly.
