To prepare coconut pasta payasam, first, boil the pasta until it is cooked al dente. drain and rinse it with cold water to stop further cooking. set it aside.
In a mixer-jar, grind the grated coconut and cashew nuts with a little warm water to make a smooth paste. keep this coconut-cashew paste aside.
In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, add milk, sugar, and elaichi powder. bring it to a brisk boil.
Stir in the coconut-cashew paste into the boiling milk mixture and give it a good stir.
Now, add the cooked pasta and saffron strands to the payasam. let it simmer for another 5 minutes to achieve a good consistency.
