In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar. use a hand mixer to beat the mixture until it becomes light and fluffy.

Add 1/4 cup of freshly chopped strawberries to the cream cheese mixture and gently fold them in using a spoon or fork. set this cream cheese batter aside.

In another mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, strawberry powder, and salt. set this dry mixture aside.

In a separate large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer to beat together the egg and the remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar until well combined.
