To prepare the minty split moong dal, start by cooking the washed moong dal. in a stainless steel vessel, add 1 cup of water, turmeric powder, and washed moong dal. cook until the dal becomes soft. alternatively, you can pressure cook it for up to 2 whistles.

Once the dal is cooked, add 1 and 1/2 cups of water and salt. bring it to a boil and then reduce the heat to simmer.

While the dal is simmering, let's prepare the tempering.

In a separate tadka pan, heat ghee or oil.
