In a thick-bottomed pan, dry roast 1 cup of peanuts on low flame until they are well roasted and crunchy. alternatively, you can roast them in the microwave until they are well roasted.
Once the peanuts start to separate their skins and become fragrant, turn off the flame and let them cool completely.
Peel off the skins from the roasted peanuts and transfer them to a blender or food processor.
Pulse and blend the peanuts to form a coarse peanut powder. make sure not to blend it too finely. set it aside.
In a large pan or kadai, add 0.67 cup of granulated sugar. you can also use dark brown sugar for a richer color and flavor. heat it on low flame until the sugar starts to melt.
